The Discovering the Total Self series will host seven powerfully liberating life-changing courses from Oct. 21 to the beginning of December at Edith Cavell School at 125 Park St. in Moncton. The public is welcome to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Bessborough School at an Open House at the school on Friday, Nov. 6, from 6 to 8 p.m. Meet current and former classmates, principals, teachers, and staff, and listen to special music provided by the school choir. Bessborough, a K-8 school for students in Moncton's west end, is marking its golden anniversary with a new $30,000 50th Anniversary Legacy Center purchased through the generosity of individual school supporters and corporate sponsors. GTECH and SPIELO donated $15,000 in computer equipment as part of GTECH's After School Advantage program. The community, Bessborough school alumni, and supporters helped to match the GTECH/SPIELO donation with an additional $15,000 toward the purchase of a Smart Board and completion of the center's renovations. A special Legacy Wall at the heart of the center will display the names of the donors who helped to add value to Bessborough students' educational experience. The City of Moncton is pleased to offer its annual Art Gallery Tours (previously called Art Studio Tours) on Saturday, November 7, from noon to 5 p.m. During the tour, local galleries will be open to welcome the public into their spaces. The program, free of charge, will include interpretations of galleries' current exhibits, 'meet the artist' events, a silent auction, live art demonstrations, a chance for the public to try a painting technique, and more. St. John's UCW is holding their annual Christmas Bazaar & Luncheon on Saturday, Nov. 7 from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. in the church basement at 75 Alma St., Moncton. You'll find crafts, baking, preserves, new-to-you treasures, and much more.
