Join Ron Arsenault, Nature Moncton, and other regional birding enthusiasts on July 5 as they venture in to one of the unassigned ten kilometre Maritimes Breeding Bird Atlas squares to look for evidence of breeding birds.

Everyone is encouraged to take part, regardless of skills. This is a great opportunity to learn or improve upon valuable bird identification techniques such as birding by ear and species habitat preferences.

There will be two departure times - 6 a.m. and 8 a.m., both from Mapleton Park's Gorge Road parking lot. It is anticipated that the bash will wrap up around 12:30 p.m., although those keen to continue on are encouraged to do so.

This year's square is 20LS41, "Gallagher Ridge". It is accessible via Berry Mills and the 126 (roughly 5 kilometres) and includes Catamount, Pacific Junction and the Canaan Game Reserve in addition to Gallagher Ridge.

It is important to pre-register with Ron Arsenault at rongarsenault@gmail.com to allow for assignment of teams and to be sure no one is left behind. Be sure to specify which start time you will be using.

As always, all are welcomed, Nature Moncton members or not.
