The memorandum of understanding was signed during Education Minister Bill Hogan’s recent trip to Africa, which also included a stop in the Ivory Coast.

“This targeted and mutually beneficial agreement between the New Brunswick and Moroccan education systems aligns with our objective of strengthening our relationships with governments that are part of the international Francophonie,” Hogan said in a press release announcing the MOU.

According to the release, employees in New Brunswick and Morocco’s education sectors will also be able to collaborate on “sustainable development, the integration of new information and communications technology, and the sharing of expertise on methods and techniques for assessing and monitoring student learning.”

“The signing of this agreement will foster co-operation in various educational sectors, encourage pairings between classes and schools, promote the sharing of the latest teaching practices and help implement innovative projects that reflect the shared priorities of both jurisdictions,” Hogan said in the release.
