Road work is the name of the game around Moncton these days, and the mature and gentle neighbourhood of Reade Street in the north end near The Moncton Hospital is alive with the chugging and banging of the paving crews these days.

There's a saying that a pedestrian is someone who thought there were a couple of gallons left in the gas tank. Indeed, noting that the fuel gauge is approaching empty is one reason many Monctonians drive down Mount Royal Boulevard, since it ends on St. George Street at the Centennial Irving gas station.
One of the most interesting streets
One of the most interesting streets in Riverview is Buckingham Avenue in the western part of town. It stretches from the Coverdale Road to White Pine Road. The Coverdale Road end is very commercial, a Sobey's grocery store across the street, a Shopper's Drug Mart on another corner, and the TD Bank as well.

And as thoughts meander, just like our feet do on our weekly trail walks, I kept humming a refrain from one of my favourite works of his, "Watching the River Flow."
